Guestbook Rhyd Gethin Barn

Rhyd Gethin barn is practically perfect in every way. Sue and Neil were so friendly and welcoming and had thought of everything we could possibly ever need. The thought and care that had gone in to making sure our stay was a great one was truly amazing - from the hot chocolate and marshmallows in the cupboard, to the Halloween pumpkin on the doorstep, the welcome basket with bread, cake, marmalade etc, the binoculars with bird book (with birds to spot highlighted for us!)...I could go on for days with all the extra little touches. We had such a relaxing time. The barn was spotless and so homely. Thank you for a wonderful stay. X

Claire, Simon, Oliver and Arlo 🐾,

Lovely place to stay for a chilled weekend with our dog. A great space with plenty of room but also cosy and homey. Nice garden to relax in and later it's great to gaze at stars. The welcome basket is also a nice touch. Our dog was welcomed which is important to us and he loved it :)

Thanks for an amazing stay! Wonderful place and local area.

Jen, Andy, Abby and Sophie,

Faultless! Everything we could need and want was provided. Quality high standard finishes and nothing I can think of to improve anything. We loved it here. Thanks so much Sue. 😊

Reanne, Tomi, Oliver and Jack 🐾,

Lovely to be back here, as cosy and welcoming as the last time. Sweetie very happy too! 😊

Fiona, Toby and Sweetie 🐾,

Everything we could have asked for (and more).
Thank you

Tony, Charles, Nicky, Cooper 🐾 and Rua 🐾,

We had a lovely weekend in sues converted barn. Communication and queries were promptly answered prior to visit and the barn was beautiful. We went with our 14 month old daughter and sue had provided everything we might need including changing mat and stair gate! The accommodation was extremely clean and tidy and much bigger than you think. Unfortunately, we did not get time to explore as we were at a wedding on the Saturday and travelled back on the Sunday but will without a doubt stay again in the future. Also very useful file there regarding what do to/where to eat/walks/bike rides etc!

Great place to stay. Amazing surroundings. Very clean and stylish property. Everything has been catered for including for pets. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning. Thanks so much

Rhyd Gethin is the Mary Poppins of accommodation - practically perfect in every way! Every detail has been thought of by Sue and Neil. We recommend the food at the Bryntirion Inn and the frozen Thai meals from the Stores! We had great fun walking in the local area, and off-road biking was amazing. Delicious bread and Welsh cakes too, diolch yn fawr iawn!

El & Ked and Jackie & Ellie ,

Our second stay @ Rhyd Gethin and we loved it again. Our little escape in the middle of nowhere. Sue and Neil are fabulous and really make the place feel like home! Take a trip to Bala Lake and eat at the Bryn Tirion Inn xxx

Perfect cottage and surroundings. Such a lovely welcome. You are such a thoughtful couple we appreciated the care you showed to Saxon 🐾 (Not to mention the yummy welsh cakes) xxx

Sally, Morag and Saxon,

I stayed at Sue's with my wife and daughter. We had a wonderful stay and the barn is beautiful. The little extra touches, like the welcome basket with the fresh homemade bread, just made the stay that bit more special.

Chris and family,

Wonderful accommodation, fantastic location. Hosts Sue and Neil are very welcoming and friendly. Great walking from the door (although some of the paths are a little 'lost'! Recommend a visit to Bala, Betws and climbing Snowdon. Many thanks Leigh and Ian x

Fiona, Toby and Sweetie,

A stunning barn conversation, and lovely friendly hosts. Homemade bread and cakes a lovely touch.

Our 2nd visit, so idyllic we had to return. Beautiful cottage surrounded by such pretty scenery. Sue greeted us and a lovely welcome basket was waiting for us. The bread was amazing!
Out and about:- Bala Machine Festival - dodging the rain - wood choppers - amazing. Bala Train trip.
Llangollen - walk around town and over the aquaduct.
Aberdovey - the sun 🌞 shone and shone, the water glistened - beautiful. Soaked through in Harlech but castle ruin good to see.
Abduls Spice, Corwen curry 10/10.

Stuart, Sue, Chris and Ellie 🐾,

Thank you so much for hosting us and our 3 dogs - it wasn't easy to find a holiday home where we could relax knowing our dogs were safe when outside, and truly welcome. Add to that your stunning home in such a gorgeous setting - we want to live here all year round! You have thought of every little thing to make our stay wonderful - thank you so much x

Charlotte and Pete with Molly, Fred and Troy,

This is a really beautiful place to stay; a fabulous barn conversion with every amenity hidden up a peaceful valley with woods and hills all around. Sue is extremely helpful and welcoming. There are lots of places you can get to from here, from Harlech and Portmeirion on the coast to border towns to small villages scattered amongst the hills. But leave time to just stay still and enjoy the barn it’s gardens and the surrounds. We heartily recommend it.

Bill and Holly,

What a delightful barn. Everything we needed in a beautiful setting, lovely walks and people. Will definitely be back, thank you.

Lisa, Matt and Archie,

Our first visit to this beautiful barn. It is so comfortable and had everything you could want in a holiday home. Very dog friendly - Jarrah loved it, especially the strange black dogs (cows) on the other side of the fence.
Loved listening to the stream at night!
A lovely base to explore our welsh roots that emigrated to Australia.
Thank you.

Kate, Malcolm, Anne and Jarrah.,

Another fab stay at this gem of a place - brilliant countryside location, where you can really get away from it all. It’s our second time here and I’d forgotten just how nice it is, inside and out! The cottage is so well done, with everything you would need for a short or long stay. Everything is to such a high standard, and with some lovely thoughtful touches too. I would definitely recommend this for anyone - couples, friends or families. We stay here with 2 small children and the bits for the kids are great to save lugging everything with you, as there is a change mat, monitor, cot, high chair and stair gate. Thanks for a great stay, we will hopefully be back again! :)

Excellent in every way. Highly recommend.

Sue’s place is better than advertised – these reviews do not do the place justice. Sue showed us around the accommodation and then left us to do our own thing all week. When we had questions, Sue was able to help us out. Sue's place has many eco-friendly elements. The Barn is beautiful and cosy. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen/diner and a small reception area with sofa and chair; with access to a garden. We cooked all of our meals and there was everything we needed. The garden is a great place to relax and enjoy the wildlife (and the Welsh Black cows). Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, both very spacious. One is en-suite and there is also a full bathroom. There is also a lounge upstairs which is perfect once you have to come in. The Barn is exceptionally clean and Sue is a perfect host. We look forward to returning to this gem of a place.

We totally recommend this stunning place for a peaceful break surrounded by nature. Sue and Neil were such great hosts. Little touches from a welcome basket (including home made treats for the doggy!) to a birthday card and gift for my partner made us feel at home away from home. We enjoyed a bbq in the garden overlooking the mountains, listening to the sound of the stream passing by the garden, we had such a relaxing and peaceful time. The living areas are very cozy and the bed was very comfortable, just what we needed after spending the day exploring. We will definitely be back!

An absolutely beautiful cottage with a fully secure garden for doggies! We felt so welcome with some lovely treats on arrival including liver cakes for our dog. There was so much information regarding the local area and days out. We will definitely be returning!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Sue’s place. The cottage is much bigger than expected. It is in a beautiful and quiet valley, away from the noise of any road. There is a beautiful small river that run just across the house and makes the atmosphere even more suggestive. House is perfect, sparking clean, beds comfortable and there are all the comforts needed. Absolutely recommended! Hope we can come back soon!

What a wonderful place to stay! Better equipped than our own home!! Extra special touches, like home made doggy treats and a vegan welcome hamper with homemade bread & jam & soya milk, the thought and consideration shines through everywhere. Just go and stay there!

Amazing hosts, amazing location, amazing facilities and standard of accommodation. Overall amazing and highly recommend if you want to immerse yourself into a non-commercial “true to its roots” authentic and lovely part of Wales. Absolutely faultless!

Absolutely outstanding Air Bnb. My wife and I stayed for the weekend in Sue’s place. Photos don’t do it justice. It’s in the most amazing location. Property is perfect in every way. Sparking clean. Over board with amenities - everything you expect plus everything you wouldn’t think of! Great, large space for the two of us. Kitchen is brand new which you can use which was a great bonus. Sue was there to meet us but after that she left us in complete privacy. You get the entire private barn conversion to yourself - even a private garden! One night we could even stargaze from the super king bed though the skylight! An amazing memory!

A really fantastic air bnb in the most amazing location. We were so impressed by the standard of the accommodation, thoughtful touches Sue had done to make us feel welcome (such as a loaf of freshly baked bread, home made marmalade and loads of tips about local life and things to do). We also ordered a breakfast basket and two steaks from the local butcher through Sue which was amazing value and really yummy. I would highly recommend this fabulous accommodation.

If you want a nice cosy break away from it all this is it. The superbly restored mill has everything you need as well as very warm, welcoming and helpful hosts.

What a gem, from the wonderful communication to the little touches such as breakfast hamper left for us even after we booked at such short notice, we couldn’t fault sues place. Sue even thought of our dog and left treats and shampoo so we could keep him clean. The cottage is really cosy, well equipped and absolutely spotless, but I think my favourite part was waking up to the sound of cows in the field next to the house rather than my alarm clock! Bliss!

This place is amazing! It's beautifully appointed, very private, clean and comfy. It's also in a stunning, peaceful location

Beautiful weekend stay at the barn to celebrate my little one’s birthday. Stunning scenery, gorgeous cottage and exceptional hosts; couldn’t commend this place enough! There were so many thoughtful touches that made it feel like a home away from home. Sue and Neil were kind and accommodating, even fishing a toy figure out of a drain for us! We will be back :)

Zainab ,

A high quality cottage in a great location to get away from it all. Sue has worked hard to make this a great place to stay- and succeeded. Highly recommended.

Thank you Sue for having us, we had a lovely weekend and a very peaceful stay. The barn is very cosy and well-equipped and the surrounding area so nice. Would happily stay again.

Beautiful barn conversion with a very homely feel, didn’t want to leave (nor did the dogs)! Sue and Neil were lovely hosts with nothing too much bother and lots of information about the local area. We will definitely be returning!

I can’t recommend enough the place. Its quite remote so just what we need from the chaotic place of ours in London. The kids beyond thrilled and excited and every morning they mind their own business bird watching at the back yard using the binocular provided. The welcome basket was so thoughtful and filled with homemade stuff, very very delicious. The barn itself is very modern, cozy, spacious and clean. The picture didn’t do justice because its was way better than that in real.

Absolutely amazing place. Sue really made us feel welcome and we didn’t want to leave! The barn was immaculately clean and had everything we could think of needing. There was lovely (still warm) fresh baked bread and delicious welsh cakes! The views from every window was amazing and the garden next to the stream was perfect
